Australia's first professional historical archaeology consultancy
Cultural Resources Management (CRM) has been managing archaeology and heritage projects since 1980, establishing the discipline in NSW and shaping how it is practised today.
Archaeology + Heritage
Founding consultancy of historical archaeology in Australia
45+ years of continuous practice
Work spanning local, state, national and world heritage-listed sites
CRM was founded by Wendy Thorp, who continues to lead all aspects of the practice's work. It began in 1980 with archaeological investigations at the redevelopment of NSW Parliament House - the first application of the NSW Heritage Act to professional archaeology in the state. That project established the framework of archival research, physical investigation and significance assessment that remains the basis of historic-period archaeological practice in NSW today.
